THE BOY WHO STOOD IN THE ARENA

Chapter Two: The Awakening Beneath Ashkar

The roar beneath the arena shook the foundations of Ashkar.

Dust rained from the towering stone walls.

The spectators stumbled backward in fear.

No one cheered anymore.

No one dared to speak.

At the center of the arena, the ten-year-old boy stood alone.

The glowing blue cracks on his hammer spread like lightning.

The weapon hummed with ancient power.

The defeated giant struggled to rise from the rubble.

But before he could move, the ground exploded beneath him.

A massive stone pillar erupted from the arena floor.

The giant was thrown aside like a rag doll.

The crowd gasped.

Deep below the arena, something enormous was awakening.

A low growl echoed through the earth.

It sounded less like an animal and more like a forgotten god.

The arena master rushed to the edge of his balcony.

His face turned pale.

"No," he whispered.

"It cannot be."

The old legends spoke of a power buried beneath Ashkar.

A force sealed away thousands of years ago.

A force feared by kings and conquerors.

The boy slowly looked down at the glowing floor.

Strange symbols were appearing beneath his feet.

Blue runes spread across the stone in every direction.

The hammer pulsed in his hand.

Then a voice entered his mind.

"At last... I have found you."

The boy froze.

The voice was ancient.

Powerful.

And strangely familiar.

"Who are you?" he whispered.

For a moment, there was silence.

Then the answer came.

"I am the Guardian of the First Flame."

The arena shook even harder.

Cracks split across the battlefield.

Suddenly, a gigantic claw burst through the stone.

The crowd screamed.

The claw was larger than a house.

Black scales covered its surface.

Blue fire burned between the cracks.

Another claw followed.

Then another.

The monster beneath Ashkar was breaking free.

The remaining gladiators dropped their weapons.

Even the champions who feared nothing began to run.

The creature's head emerged from the depths.

Its eyes burned like twin stars.

Its horns scraped the arena walls.

Thousands of years of imprisonment had not weakened it.

The beast opened its mouth.

A blast of blue fire shot into the stormy sky.

Dark clouds exploded apart.

Lightning danced across the heavens.

The city of Ashkar could see the fire from miles away.

Panic spread through every street.

The monster turned its enormous gaze toward the boy.

Everyone expected the child to flee.

Instead, he stepped forward.

The hammer glowed brighter.

The symbols beneath him ignited.

The ancient voice returned.

"The beast remembers you."

The boy's heart pounded.

"I've never seen this creature before."

The voice answered slowly.

"No."

"But your soul has."

A flash of memories exploded inside his mind.

A golden kingdom.

A battlefield of fire.

An army kneeling before a warrior king.

And in that king's hand—

the same glowing hammer.

The boy fell to one knee.

The truth crashed into him like thunder.

He was not an ordinary child.

He was the last heir of an ancient bloodline.

The bloodline that had once defeated the beast.

The bloodline that history had erased.

The monster lowered its head.

Its burning eyes locked onto him.

Then, for the first time in thousands of years—

the beast spoke.

"Welcome back, King Arkan."

And the entire world changed forever.
