The Dragon's Heir

The rain crashed against the stone arena like a thousand falling arrows.

The False King rose from his throne, his face pale with terror.

“He is not the heir!” he screamed again.

His voice echoed across the royal execution grounds.

But nobody moved.

Nobody dared.

The dragon's massive golden eyes remained fixed on the prisoner.

Ancient intelligence burned within them.

The chained man slowly lifted his head.

Blood mixed with rain as it ran down his face.

For the first time, he looked directly at the king.

A strange silence settled over the arena.

Then the dragon lowered its head even further.

The gesture was unmistakable.

It was not submission.

It was loyalty.

The crowd gasped.

The royal guards exchanged frightened glances.

Legends spoke of dragons serving only one bloodline.

A bloodline thought lost centuries ago.

The bloodline of the First Dragon King.

The False King's hands trembled.

"Impossible," he whispered.

The prisoner suddenly felt warmth spreading through his chest.

Beneath his torn shirt, a golden symbol began to glow.

Ancient runes appeared across his skin.

The chains around his wrists rattled violently.

The dragon released a deep rumble that shook the arena.

Lightning flashed across the stormy sky.

For a brief moment, every citizen saw the glowing crest.

The old royal symbol.

The forgotten Dragon Crest.

An elderly nobleman fell to his knees.

"I know that mark," he cried.

"It belongs to the true royal family."

Panic spread through the king's court.

Several ministers backed away from the throne.

The False King drew his sword.

"Kill him!" he shouted.

Dozens of soldiers charged forward.

The dragon moved before they could reach the prisoner.

Its wings unfolded like mountains of living gold.

A deafening roar exploded across the kingdom.

The ground cracked beneath the soldiers.

Many dropped their weapons and fled.

Others collapsed in fear.

The prisoner felt the chains weaken.

With a single pull, he shattered them.

Golden energy burst from his body.

The storm itself seemed to answer his call.

Above the arena, clouds began to swirl around a pillar of light.

The dragon stepped beside him like a guardian.

Then something incredible happened.

Hundreds of dragons appeared in the distant sky.

Their silhouettes emerged from the storm clouds.

Ancient creatures unseen for generations.

They circled above the capital.

The people stared upward in disbelief.

The prisoner looked at the False King one final time.

"I never wanted your throne," he said.

His voice was calm.

"But the kingdom deserves the truth."

The False King's confidence vanished.

For years he had ruled through lies and fear.

Now every lie was collapsing before him.

The dragon lowered its wing.

An invitation.

A throne greater than any forged by men.

The prisoner stepped onto the dragon's back.

Golden light erupted across the arena.

The citizens shielded their eyes.

When they looked again, the dragon and its chosen heir were rising into the storm.

Above them, the dragons of old followed in formation.

The age of lies was ending.

The age of dragons had returned.

And the true heir had finally awakened.
