"🚨 TRAGIC BLOW! — TRUMP MOURNS THE PASSING OF THE SUPPORTER SHOT DURING THE BUTLER RALLY!"

President Donald Trump is mourning the death of James “Jim” Copenhaver, one of the rallygoers seriously wounded during the 2024 assassination attempt against Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Copenhaver, 76, died Wednesday at Allegheny Health Network’s West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner and his family’s attorney.
Copenhaver had survived being shot twice during the July 13, 2024, attack at the Butler Farm Show grounds, suffering devastating injuries that required multiple surgeries and continued to affect him for more than two years.
Trump paid tribute to Copenhaver on Thursday, calling him a “true American Patriot” and describing his death as a “tremendous loss.”
“More than two years ago in Butler, Pennsylvania, a crazed gunman attempted to stifle our America First Movement,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Instead, Jim and so many other wonderful Patriots who love our Country, stood united in defense of our shared values of Freedom, Liberty, and Justice.”
Trump praised Copenhaver for the way he handled the difficult recovery that followed.

“Jim showed tremendous bravery, courageously continuing to FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, and maintaining a positive spirit despite unimaginable hardships,” Trump wrote.
“His indelible legacy of love and devotion will forever endure. Our hearts and prayers are with the Copenhaver family, especially his incredible wife Marianne.”
Copenhaver was sitting in the bleachers behind Trump when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from the roof of a nearby building.
Trump was struck in the right ear before Secret Service agents surrounded him and rushed him from the stage.
Three spectators were also struck. Former Buffalo Township fire chief Corey Comperatore, 50, was killed while shielding his family from the gunfire.
Copenhaver and fellow rally attendee David Dutch were seriously wounded. Dutch survived. Crooks was killed by a Secret Service counter-sniper.
Copenhaver was struck in his arm and abdomen. His injuries proved extensive.
According to a federal lawsuit he later filed, the gunfire caused injuries to his abdomen, colon and kidney, along with nerve damage and other medical problems.
He underwent multiple operations, including surgery involving his colon, and spent weeks recovering in the hospital and a rehabilitation facility.
Even after returning home, Copenhaver continued experiencing physical effects from the attack. He lost feeling in part of one leg and needed a cane to walk.
His lawsuit described the injuries as “debilitating, grievous, permanent and life altering.”
Copenhaver’s family said he faced the lengthy recovery with determination.
“Throughout that difficult time, James faced every challenge with the same strength and resolve that defined his life, and the kindness shown by so many brought great comfort to him and to those who love him,” attorney Joseph Feldman said on behalf of the family.
The family described Copenhaver as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who emphasized hard work, integrity and service to others. He was also a military veteran.
“James’s dedication to this great country was a defining part of his life,” the family said. “As a veteran, he proudly served our nation in the armed forces, and his love of country never wavered.”
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday subsequently said Copenhaver had died from “complications stemming from those wounds.”
Copenhaver’s death comes months after he and his wife, Marianne, filed a lawsuit against the federal government over the security failures surrounding the assassination attempt.
Dutch and his wife filed a similar lawsuit.
The lawsuits accuse the Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security of negligence and contend that federal authorities failed to properly secure the AGR International complex adjacent to the rally site — including the building Crooks ultimately climbed before opening fire.
The litigation points to congressional investigations that identified numerous security breakdowns surrounding the rally.
A bipartisan House task force investigating the assassination attempt found significant problems with planning, communications and coordination among the Secret Service and state and local law enforcement agencies.
The attack produced one of the defining images of the 2024 presidential campaign.
Moments after being shot, Trump stood as Secret Service agents surrounded him, raised his fist and repeatedly shouted “Fight!” before being taken from the stage.
Copenhaver was fighting for his own life only yards away.
Video later recovered from Copenhaver’s cellphone also provided investigators with a chilling perspective on the attack. Footage recorded shortly before the shooting showed a figure later identified as Crooks moving across the roof from which he would fire.
Copenhaver’s death drew condolences beyond Trump.
House Republicans said he had “endured unimaginable hardship with strength and perseverance” and offered prayers to his family.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, also expressed condolences while again condemning political violence.
Morning Co-Host Smashes Heavy Ceramic Mug on Live Set; Flying Shards Strike Partner’s Face Before Master Control Drops National Feed

CARNAGE AT 30 ROCK: Morning Co-Host Smashes Heavy Ceramic Mug on Live Set; Flying Shards Strike Partner’s Face Before Master Control Drops National Feed
NEW YORK — Studio 1A at 30 Rockefeller Plaza descended into an unprecedented scene of flying glass, blood, and sheer panic on Friday morning when a marquee morning co-host violently slammed a heavy ceramic mug directly onto the curved glass anchor desk on live national television. The explosive impact hurled jagged ceramic shards and scalding liquid straight into their co-anchor’s face, forcing Master Control to slam down an emergency satellite blackout switch.
The violent outburst—detonating midway through the flagship 8:00 AM hour before millions of live viewers nationwide—stands as the most dangerous instance of soundstage equipment destruction in network history, grinding the multi-million-dollar morning franchise to a screeching halt.
The Simmering Feud Reaches a Destructive Flashpoint
The altercation erupted during what was scheduled as an unscripted four-minute roundtable exploring media accountability and corporate ethics. Floor crew confirmed that the two co-anchors had been trading acrimonious, passive-aggressive remarks throughout pre-dawn rundown meetings, with the hostility spilling directly under the hot studio floodlights.
As the debate sharpened, the dialogue quickly veered off the editorial rails into an open personal attack:
The Slur at the Desk: The partner leaned in with a cutting, deeply personal jab, mocking the co-host's journalistic credentials and alleging under their breath that they were "only at this desk to fill a boardroom quota."
The Ultimatum: The co-host froze over their briefing papers, turning crimson as studio lapel microphones captured their rapid, heavy breathing: "Say that into the microphone," the host demanded in a low, trembling voice. "Say it right now so five million people know what kind of coward you are."
The Smirk: Scoffing and rolling their eyes toward the primary pedestal camera, the partner smirked: "You can't handle the truth, and everyone in this building knows it."
The Impact: Flying Ceramic, Bleeding Wounds, and Paralyzed Crew
The co-host snapped instantly.
Reaching down, the broadcaster grabbed a heavy branded ceramic mug filled with hot coffee, raised it overhead, and drove it down with violent force against the reinforced acrylic-and-glass anchor desk.
The impact resonated across the cavernous soundstage like a gunshot:
The Debris Field: The ceramic mug shattered into dozens of razor-sharp fragments, gouging the table, shredding run-sheets, and spider-webbing the glass confidence monitor embedded in the riser.
Direct Strike: Sharp fragments and hot liquid sprayed across the desk, striking the partner squarely across the left cheek and forehead.
The Immediate Agony: The partner shrieked in pain, reeling backward in their swivel chair and clutching a bleeding facial laceration near their eye as blood dripped onto their wardrobe.
Studio Mayhem: Audible shrieks erupted behind the automated camera rigs from teleprompter operators, production assistants, and floor managers.
Towering over the shattered platform, the standing co-host slammed their hands onto the remaining debris, bellowing across the room: "Get off this set! Don't you ever dare belittle me again!"
Master Control Panic: The Emergency Feed Cut
Inside Executive Master Control, transmission directors scrambled in terror as blood, shattered glass, and screaming anchors flashed across the master video wall.
Intercom channels erupted with frantic shouts from the executive producer: "Cut the feed! Kill the studio bus right now! Blackout the transmission!"
The live feed vanished mid-frame, replaced nationwide by a stark blue graphic reading “Special Programming Will Resume Shortly” before the system dumped into an unscheduled seven-minute commercial block of syndicated spots and regional promos.

Armed Security Intervention and Medical Evacuation
Behind the sealed soundproof doors of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the soundstage was instantly treated as an active crime and trauma scene:
Medical Triage on Set: On-site medics applied sterile pressure compresses to the injured anchor's bleeding facial wounds before transporting them to a local Manhattan hospital for stitches and burn evaluations.
Armed Restraint: Four building security officers breached the riser, physically restraining the co-host, confiscating their electronic access badges, and escorting them out through basement freight tunnels onto West 49th Street.
Set Quarantined: Floor managers cordoned off Studio 1A, declaring the blood-stained, coffee-soaked riser an active occupational hazard zone.
When programming finally resumed at 8:31 AM, Studio 1A was pitch-black. Viewers were greeted by a visibly shaken, pale auxiliary anchor broadcasting solo from a third-floor news desk, who launched into generic national weather and wire reports without uttering a single word about the violence on the floor below.
Corporate Crisis and Nationwide Outcry
Within moments of the broadcast sever, home DVR captures of the violent mug smash and the injured anchor's screams flooded social media platforms, amassing over forty million views across X, TikTok, and YouTube under #Studio1ABloodshed and #MorningShowAssault.
Workplace safety groups, media watchdogs, and legal commentators across the country universally condemned the catastrophic breakdown, calling for immediate criminal assault prosecutions and regulatory workplace investigations.
