PART 1: THE DINNER TABLE HUMILIATION

The banquet hall of the Vance estate was filled with the sounds of elite laughter and clinking crystal glasses, but the malice beneath the surface was suffocating. I sat at the end of the long mahogany dining table, heavily pregnant and trapped, while my ex-husband and his family orchestrated their final, cruel public degradation.
Before I could even brace myself, an older woman in a sparkling black gown shrieked with malicious laughter as she hoisted a heavy metal bucket. Beside her, a man in a sharp green jacket doubled over in hysterics, pointing and laughing as freezing water poured down directly over my head and shoulders, soaking my dress and clinging to my hair.
Across the table, another woman covered her mouth in mock shock while holding a glass of wine, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. In the background, guards in green uniforms watched the spectacle unfold without a shred of intervention.

I didn't scream. I didn't cry. I wiped the water from my eyes, resting my hand protectively over my baby bump, and stared straight ahead with a gaze so cold it froze the laughter in their throats.
"Enjoy your amusement," I whispered, my voice cutting through the noise. "Because this is the last time you will ever mock me."
