PART 1: THE WEDDING CRASH / Chapter 1 / 4

PART 2: THE REVELATION OF THE GOLDEN URN

The heavy, suffocating silence inside the grand ballroom was broken only by the soft, startled whimpers of the baby in my arms. The guests in the surrounding tables remained frozen, too stunned to even whisper as the reality of the situation set in.

Lucas finally managed to close his gaping mouth, his hands trembling violently at his sides as he stepped down from the altar platform. His royal blue tuxedo felt less like a symbol of celebration and more like a straitjacket.

"Valerie..." Lucas choked out, his voice cracking with panic. "What... what is that? What are you doing here? This is... this is a private ceremony!"

"Private?" I echoed, letting out a cold, unimpressed laugh that cut through the room like ice. "You called it a celebration of a new beginning. I call it a celebration of fraud, built on assets you stole while pretending my children and I no longer existed."

The woman in the pink bridal gown—still sprawled on the polished wooden floor with her veil tangled around her ankles—let out a hysterical gasp. She scrambled backward until her back hit the base of a floral column, her eyes wide with terror as she stared at the heavy artifact in my hand.

"She's... she's insane!" the woman shrieked, pointing a shaking, manicured finger at me. "Lucas, get her out of here! Call security! Call the police!"

"The police are already on their way, Chloe," a calm, authoritative voice boomed from the double doors behind me.

Everyone's attention snapped toward the entrance. Stepping into the ballroom came a team of federal marshals flanked by elite security personnel, securing every exit and locking down the venue completely.

I raised the heavy golden urn slightly, its polished surface catching the dazzling light of the crystal chandeliers. "You thought by faking documents and locking me out of the corporate trust accounts, you could sweep my family's legacy under the rug. But you forgot one crucial detail, Lucas: this urn doesn't just hold the ashes of my grandfather's historical estate—it holds the original, master encrypted key to every single server database Vance Holdings owns."

Lucas staggered backward, his knees going weak as he realized the absolute trap he had walked into. He hadn't just married into a scandal; he had invited his own corporate executioner right onto the dance floor.
