Adrian and the Children

Chapter 18 - Adrian and the Children
Adrian attended family therapy selected by the children’s advocate.
During one session, Noah asked whether he would travel again.
“Yes,” Adrian said. “Sometimes.”
The child’s face closed.
Adrian continued.
“You will know where I am, who is staying with you, how to contact me privately, and who outside the family can check on you. You will help approve the plan.”
Emma asked, “What if we say no?”
“Then I examine whether the trip is necessary.”
Lily whispered, “What if it is?”
“Then we make a plan that does not depend on one adult controlling every door.”
