Helena’s Medical File

Chapter 05 - Helena’s Medical File
Helena had maintained a private file on Sophia.
It contained reports from Dr. Marcus Reed, the family physician Ethan selected after the pregnancy began.
The reports described paranoia, emotional instability, and resistance to prenatal care.
Sophia had never been examined alone.
Every appointment included Helena.
A separate pharmacy log showed sedatives prescribed as anti-nausea medication.
Dr. Hall tested Sophia’s blood.
The levels were low but persistent.
Enough to produce fatigue, dizziness, and memory gaps.
The symptoms were then recorded as evidence that she could not manage the trust.
Helena called the medication necessary.
Dr. Hall called it undisclosed sedation.
Miriam found an unsigned guardianship petition in Ethan’s desk.
It named Helena temporary medical guardian and Ethan financial guardian.
The hearing had been scheduled for two days after Sophia’s planned induction.
If the birth became medically complicated, the family intended to present the emergency as proof of incapacity.
