Mercer House Opens Its Records

Chapter 15 - Mercer House Opens Its Records
Daniel transferred Mercer House into the independent trust.
The hidden chamber became part of a training center on child identity, guardianship, and institutional accountability.
Caleb refused to let visitors enter the room where he had been kept.
The trust sealed it.
A transparent floor panel showed only the old service corridor and archive wall.
The actual bed, scanner, and personal items remained private evidence.
Lily refused to display the video of her listening to the floor.
“I was scared. That is not decoration.”
The exhibit used a written description instead.
Visitors saw the false guardianship form, a replica brass whistle, Amelia’s trust clause, and the signature software.
The new oak boards were removed.
The original floor was restored where possible.
One board remained unfinished above the archive entrance.
Its label read:
THE FIRST WARNING WAS A CHILD SAYING SHE HEARD SOMEONE.
Staff training began with that sentence.
Not with the billions.

Not with the famous family.
With a child who was told the house was making ordinary noises.
