Victor Shaw’s Departure Plan

Chapter 11 - Victor Shaw’s Departure Plan

Victor Shaw disappeared during the second day of the hearing.

Airport police found him at a private terminal with hard drives, foreign currency, and two passports.

He offered information about Mason in exchange for immunity.

Ortiz refused complete protection.

Victor cooperated anyway.

He admitted creating duplicate identities, false guardianship forms, and trust accounts.

He designed digital signature software that displayed simple consent screens while attaching approval to longer documents.

The same system appeared on the tablet Mason brought upstairs.

Victor claimed Mason was only a late beneficiary of a scheme begun by older board members.

Messages showed Mason expanded it.

He identified wealthy heirs, donors, and former foster youth whose assets could be reached through incapacity claims.

Marriage to Evelyn was his most ambitious project.

Victor also revealed that Catherine’s death investigation had been manipulated.

Her car crash followed a sudden cardiac event.

There was no proof anyone caused it.

But Crowe attorneys removed the Lantern key from her belongings before police inventory.

A Bellamy housekeeper later found it inside a donor display and returned it to the hotel archive.

Catherine’s evidence survived through an employee who did not understand its value but knew it did not belong to the Crowes.

Victor pleaded guilty to fraud, identity manipulation, unlawful confinement, and conspiracy.

His cooperation reduced his sentence.
