Graham’s Final Night

Chapter 09 - Graham’s Final Night

Federal technicians recovered the drives from Sterling Tower.

Several files had been deleted.

Graham’s system stored redundant fragments across every unit, making complete erasure difficult.

The folder from his final night was reconstructed.

At 8:11 p.m., Graham entered the workshop carrying a medical folder.

Vivienne followed.

“You changed Laura’s dosage,” he said.

“She needed stabilization.”

“She needed sleep, not a chemical prison.”

Nathan entered at 8:19.

Graham accused him of copying customer video feeds into a private analytics platform called Lantern.

Lantern categorized residents by wealth, habits, medication use, relationships, and time spent alone.

The data was sold to insurers, private investigators, political firms, and high-end security contractors.

“You built a market for vulnerability,” Graham said.

Nathan remained calm.

“We built predictive intelligence.”

“You recorded bedrooms.”

“We recorded events in licensed zones.”

“Children lived in those homes.”

Nathan’s face tightened.

“We filtered protected content.”

Graham placed documents on the table.

“I called the federal privacy office.”

Vivienne moved between them.

“Think about the company.”

“I am.”

“You will destroy your children.”

“I am trying to stop what they became.”

At 8:37, Graham reached for his phone.

Vivienne took it.

Nathan blocked the workshop door.

The camera angle did not show what happened next, but the audio captured a struggle.

Graham said, “That dose is not mine.”

Vivienne answered, “It will calm you.”

A glass shattered.

The video resumed after a four-minute gap.

Graham sat in a chair, disoriented. Nathan held a medication injector used for Graham’s diabetes.

Vivienne whispered, “Call the doctor.”

Nathan replied, “Not until the transfer is signed.”

They placed a tablet before Graham.

His hand moved weakly across the screen.

At 9:06, he collapsed.

Nathan called emergency services seven minutes later.

The family physician declared a natural stroke.

The signed transfer moved Graham’s controlling shares into the family trust, giving Vivienne and Nathan authority over Sterling.

Rachel left the room before the video ended.

Laura followed.

For years, Laura suspected they drugged their father.

Seeing it did not feel like relief.

Maya explained the legal reality carefully.

The video showed medical coercion and delay in calling for help. Whether the altered dose caused Graham’s death required expert review.

The transfer was clearly invalid.

Vivienne and Nathan had not merely hidden corporate crimes.

They had used Graham’s final medical crisis to steal the company.

Laura looked toward Rachel’s bandaged hand.

“They did the same thing twice.”

Rachel understood.

Create pain.

Rewrite its cause.

Use the victim’s weakened state to take control.

The kitchen was not an isolated act.

It was the family business model.
