Amelia’s Locked Archive

Chapter 05 - Amelia’s Locked Archive
Amelia Bennett had stored private research files inside the foundation’s first prenatal clinic.
The archive required two keys.
Richard held one.
Claire’s maternity bracelet contained the other.
She had worn the bracelet since childhood without knowing its function.
Inside the archive were contracts, billing ledgers, and recordings from Haven House.
Amelia’s voice opened the first file.
“If Claire is pregnant when this archive is opened, someone may already be trying to turn motherhood into legal incapacity.”
Amelia had discovered that Haven House created duplicate identities for pregnant patients.
One record remained visible to the woman and her family.
A second record contained diagnoses, consent forms, and guardianship recommendations controlled by the center.
After delivery, the duplicate identity could be attached to the baby.
Families with large trusts or settlements were the most valuable.
Celeste’s mother, Judge Evelyn Grant, approved many emergency guardianships.
Dr. Mercer supplied psychiatric evaluations.
Victor Shaw created the legal templates.
Ashford Medical Group received referral fees.
Amelia planned to expose the network.
Her last recording named a nurse who preserved original birth and treatment records.
Rachel Stone.
Public records said Rachel died shortly after Amelia’s accident.
