She retained a private wing and opened the west offices to veterans and elderly families facing coercive guardianship.
Rosa became director of household advocacy.
Miriam supervised legal services.
Daniel served on no governing board.
He volunteered when home and accepted assignments from staff.
The first client was a retired Navy nurse whose nephew controlled her banking application and medical portal.
Evelyn sat beside her during intake.
The nurse looked at the wheelchair.
“Did they say you were confused too?”
Evelyn smiled.
“They said many things.”
Together they reviewed every document.
The center’s emblem was a silver pair of scissors resting closed beside an open hand.
