Victoria’s Letter

Chapter 18 - Victoria’s Letter
Five years into her sentence, Victoria wrote to Lucas through a court-approved service.
The letter admitted that Anna had been alive.
It admitted the clinic records were false.
It described Victoria’s fear that losing control of Reed Health would destroy the life she had built.
She did not call the fear an excuse.
Lucas read the letter with a counselor at age fourteen.
He felt anger, sadness, and relief that the words finally matched reality.
Victoria asked whether he would someday visit.
Lucas wrote one sentence.
Not now. Maybe never. That choice is mine.
The service delivered it.
Victoria did not reply again.
Anna told Lucas he did not owe forgiveness.
Ethan told him he did not owe permanent anger either.
