Victor’s Letter to Anna

Chapter 17 - Victor’s Letter to Anna

Five years into his sentence, Victor wrote to Anna through a court-approved program.

The first letter described pressure from Crown executives and Samuel’s demand for stability.

The program did not forward it.

The second admitted his own decisions.

He created the false diagnosis.

He ordered Eli’s transfers.

He selected Northgate because its doctors knew how to convert resistance into symptoms.

He wrote:

I believed separating you from your son was temporary. Then every month of delay made the truth more expensive.

Anna read the letter with a counselor.

Victor asked whether she would support a sentence reduction in exchange for more account codes.

She declined.

Prosecutors could evaluate his cooperation without turning her response into currency.

Victor later provided the codes anyway.

Recovered funds supported identity repair and safe family searches.

The information mattered.

It did not create access to Anna or Eli.

When reporters asked whether she forgave him, Anna answered once.

“My healing is not the final service his legal strategy requires.”

After that, she refused the question.
