Ethan’s First Stolen Birth

Chapter 06 - Ethan’s First Stolen Birth
Thirty-eight years earlier, Richard Hale’s wife suffered a late pregnancy loss.
Hale Medical Group was preparing for its first major expansion. Richard feared that a childless family would weaken confidence in the dynasty Samuel openly disliked.
On the same night, a young employee named Joanna Ward delivered a healthy boy at Saint Catherine’s.
Joanna was unmarried and financially vulnerable.
Richard offered support, then used hospital lawyers to take the child.
The baby became Ethan Hale.
Joanna’s name disappeared from the birth record.
Margaret witnessed the alteration.
Samuel later discovered it and created the employee-trust clause so no stolen child could permanently secure family control.
Celeste Ward was Joanna’s daughter from a later marriage.
Ethan and Celeste shared the same biological mother.
They were half-siblings.
Margaret carried the DNA documents.
Celeste heard the revelation in her hospital room and became physically ill.
Ethan refused to believe it.
“My mother was Caroline Hale.”
“Caroline raised you,” Margaret said. “Joanna gave birth to you.”
Celeste stared at Ethan.
Their relationship had been built on another erased maternity record.
The same system now attempted to erase Rachel.
Ethan accused Margaret of fabricating evidence to seize the company.
Margaret placed Samuel’s chapel key on the bedside table.
“The original birth ledger will answer you.”
Paul Danner ordered guards to keep her away from the chapel.
Detective Ortiz entered behind her with a warrant.
The maternity lockdown ended.
For the first time that night, the elevator doors opened.
But the old hospital chapel was empty.
