Samuel Hale’s Final Recording

Chapter 09 - Samuel Hale’s Final Recording
The chapel recorder contained one surviving tape.
Samuel Hale appeared seated behind his desk shortly before his death.
“My family has mistaken medical records for property,” he said.
He described Ethan’s stolen birth and the financial schemes Richard built around the hospital network.
Then he explained the trust.
The first legal child of Ethan and his lawful spouse would not inherit Hale Medical Group.
The birth would merely trigger a choice.
The lawful mother could place control either in a private family trust or in the employee foundation.
Richard had shown Ethan only the first option.
Rachel held the decision.
The false birth under her name would allow Ethan to forge her signature and choose family control.
Samuel looked directly into the camera.
“No infant should arrive carrying a corporation on its shoulders.”
Rachel listened twice.
She could still choose the employee foundation after her child’s birth.
Richard offered her fifty million dollars to sign the family trust instead.
He called it security for her baby.
Rachel rejected it.
“Money stolen from patients and workers is not security.”
Richard warned that markets would collapse and thousands could lose jobs.
Margaret answered from the doorway.
“Workers already built the hospitals. Let them govern what they built.”
The deadline at 4:00 a.m. passed without a qualifying birth.

According to the original will, temporary control froze until Rachel’s child was safely born and the choice was recorded.
For the first time in decades, neither Richard nor Ethan controlled Hale Medical Group.
