Chapter 16 - The Verdicts
Margaret was convicted of assault, unlawful restraint, evidence tampering, and conspiracy.
Daniel was convicted of unlawful restraint, assault, and participation in attempted evidence destruction.
Keller was convicted of medical falsification and permanently lost his license.
Margaret received sixteen years.
Daniel received five after cooperation and documented accountability work.
Keller received six.
At sentencing, Margaret said she had protected a company employing thousands of people.
Nora’s statement answered:
“You treated one woman’s authorship, body, and future as acceptable expenses. Employment does not purchase that authority.”
Daniel apologized without blaming his mother.
“I knew she planned to humiliate you. I chose to hold you because I believed losing the company would be worse than losing your trust.”
