Bianca Chooses a Side

Chapter 11 - Bianca Chooses a Side

Bianca requested immunity before dawn.

Federal investigators had already been examining Calder North’s acquisition practices. The forged messages, reserve transfer, and attempted license assignment gave them a new case.

Bianca offered emails, recordings, and internal Calder documents.

She also admitted the affair began as part of her assignment.

Daniel heard the statement from an adjoining room.

“You never loved me.”

Bianca looked through the glass.

“I believed I did after a while.”

The answer mirrored Evelyn’s understanding of Daniel.

Affection could exist inside manipulation.

Its existence did not make the manipulation harmless.

Bianca described the public humiliation plan.

Calder needed Evelyn removed before Monday’s vote. Daniel proposed exposing an affair. Bianca proposed financial misconduct. Together they created both stories and arranged the gala.

The slap was not planned.

Daniel struck Evelyn after she quietly told him the reserve transfer had been blocked and Hawthorne was reviewing the merger.

Bianca admitted she smiled.

“I thought the moment meant he had chosen me.”

Evelyn listened without expression.

Bianca continued.

“Then Mrs. Sloan entered, and I saw him look for someone to blame.”

She provided a recording from Daniel’s office.

Renn asked what would happen if Evelyn refused to kneel or sign.

Daniel answered:

“She still wants to believe there is a marriage to save.”

The sentence ended any remaining ambiguity.

Daniel had not merely expected Evelyn’s compliance.

He intended to use her hope as leverage.
