Clara did not stay to watch the audit.
She gave the original flash drive to Naomi and kept a verified copy.
A physician cleaned the small cut near her shoulder. It required no stitches.
Damian waited near the front doors.
“I did not know what my mother was hiding.”
“You knew what you were demanding.”
“I thought the apartment was one property.”
“It was one property that belonged to me.”
He lowered his voice.
“I lost control.”
“You made a choice while believing I had less power than you.”
That distinction stopped him.
Clara entered a black sedan with Charles and Naomi.
She did not move into one of Charles’s estates.
She returned to the river apartment after investigators secured the hidden archive.
