The House Damian Thought Was His

Chapter 09 - The House Damian Thought Was His

The mansion was called Vale House.

The deed belonged to Rowan Residential Trust.

The land beneath Vale Holdings headquarters belonged to Rowan Infrastructure.

The family aircraft was leased through a Rowan aviation subsidiary.

The hotel where Damian and Clara married belonged to the Rowan hospitality portfolio.

Even the scholarship that paid Damian’s graduate-school tuition came from Lydia Rowan’s dormant beneficiary fund.

Damian had worked hard.

He had also spent his life supported by assets Beatrice described as Vale property.

He turned toward Charles.

“You watched me claim all of this.”

“I watched Beatrice manage it,” Charles answered. “I did not have enough evidence to seize operations without harming employees and creditors.”

“You could have told me about Lydia.”

“We did not know you were her child until Elise’s index led us to the hospital record.”

Damian looked at Clara.

“Did you know before tonight?”

May you like

“No.”

For once, the shock belonged to all of them.
