Dr. Paul Mercer waited in the mansion’s east guest suite.
He carried a medical bag, a prewritten psychological report, and consent forms authorizing Clara’s admission to a private recovery clinic.
He had not examined Clara that evening.
His report described aggression, delusional claims of company ownership, and unstable fixation on her late mother.
Naomi asked when he formed the diagnosis.
Mercer said Beatrice provided extensive family history.
The flash drive contained emails between them.
Beatrice wrote:
If Clara mentions Lydia or the original Rowan capital, describe it as inherited fantasy.
Mercer replied:
I can support a temporary incapacity finding if Damian confirms marital deterioration.
Damian had confirmed it.

He had not understood that the report would be used to remove Clara from access to her own trust while Beatrice entered the apartment.
His ignorance did not make his cooperation harmless.
