Why Beatrice Needed the Apartment

Chapter 06 - Why Beatrice Needed the Apartment

Lydia Rowan’s original beneficiary papers were stored beneath Rowan House.

The apartment’s fireplace concealed the only private elevator into the old archive vault.

Beatrice knew the vault existed.

She did not know Elise had copied the files before access was sealed.

If Beatrice gained the apartment, she could renovate the fireplace wall, enter the vault, and destroy any remaining proof of Damian’s Rowan inheritance and the forged company transfer.

She had already hired contractors.

The transfer deed contained a clause granting immediate renovation authority.

Damian believed he was giving his mother a beautiful home.

He was giving her access to evidence.

Camille had known part of the truth.

She helped Beatrice submit the construction request but claimed she believed they were searching for Victor’s private letters.

Messages on her phone showed Beatrice writing:

Once the old archive is cleared, Damian can never claim through Lydia, and Clara can never reopen Elise’s ownership.

The apartment was not a prize.

It was the final unsecured witness.
