Richard’s Public Story

Chapter 12 - Richard’s Public Story
Richard spoke to reporters outside the courthouse.
He said Claire misunderstood a desperate family discussion because of medical stress.
He described the physical contact as an attempt to calm her.
The recording captured his words:
Give me the envelope.
You will do what this family needs.
The guardianship petition contradicted the claim that the meeting was spontaneous.
Journalists asked about the fake invoices.
Richard blamed accountants.
They asked about North Harbor Credit.
He called it legitimate bridge financing.
Bank records showed he owned both sides of the loan.
They asked why Keller’s report described an examination that never happened.
Richard ended the conference.
Former employees then came forward.
A bookkeeper questioned therapy invoices and was fired.
A warehouse manager saw medical equipment delivered and immediately resold.
A family driver transported Richard to Keller’s office days before the confrontation.
