Chapter 16 - The Verdict
Richard was convicted on every major fraud, coercion, guardianship, and assault count.
Keller was convicted of medical fraud and permanently lost his license.
Diane received probation, restitution obligations, and mandatory financial-ethics service after cooperation.
Richard received twenty-five years.
Keller received ten.
At sentencing, Richard said he had devoted his life to both children and made mistakes while trying to save Mason’s future.
Claire’s statement answered:
“You did not have to choose between your children. You created a crisis in one life and tried to pay for it with the other.”
Mason sat behind her.
