Caroline Vance returned from London after Naomi contacted her.
She entered the estate without photographers.
Vivian met her in the library.
“You abandoned me,” Vivian said.
“I refused to steal a child.”
“I was protecting your inheritance.”
“From whom?”
Vivian pointed toward Elena.
“From a maid who appeared with a convenient story.”
Caroline looked at the ivy pendant and then at Isabelle’s photograph.
“She looks like Grandfather.”
Vivian’s voice became sharp.
“Blood does not create loyalty.”
Caroline answered, “Then why were you changing the baby’s bloodline?”
Caroline surrendered emails, draft birth records, and instructions from her mother.
She admitted signing preliminary clinic documents before understanding their purpose.
Once she realized Vivian intended to list her as Noah’s mother, she refused and left.
