Isabelle Comes Home
Chapter 19 - Isabelle Comes Home
Isabelle’s remains were eventually identified through evidence recovered from the coast near the old wreck site.
The fisherman who rescued her had believed she later died from illness inland. In truth, she lived another twenty-six years and was buried under the Marlowe name.
Sebastian traveled with Elena to bring Isabelle’s ashes home.
They did not place them inside the Vance family crypt.
Elena chose the public garden beneath an old magnolia tree her mother remembered from childhood.
At the ceremony, Sebastian apologized aloud.
Not for failing to possess every answer.
