The Car Leaves the Showroom

Chapter 11 - The Car Leaves the Showroom
Transporting the Bugatti to the coast became a public spectacle.
News helicopters followed the enclosed truck.
Investors called it reckless to risk the world’s most valuable prototype.
Malik disliked the phrase.
“My mother is more valuable.”
At the naval terminal, engineers connected the Obsidian system to a remote operations unit.
Malik sat inside the car while agents approached the offshore platform.
The steering wheel displayed doors, cameras, and power controls hundreds of miles away.
Aisha had linked every Helix facility to the same hidden architecture.
Malik could unlock the platform.
He could also overload the batteries.
Victor contacted him again.
“You have no idea what pressing the wrong command will do.”
“Then tell me where my mother is.”
Victor sent armed security toward the agents.
Malik recognized a symbol in the interface.
Three lines inside a circle.
The mark Aisha left at Northpoint.
Follow the current.
He redirected power from the weapons system to emergency lighting.
Doors opened across the platform.
Workers escaped locked laboratories.
Agents reached Aisha’s room.
It was empty.
A hidden elevator descended beneath the sea platform.
Daniel Carter appeared on a camera wearing Helix coveralls.
He had opened the elevator from inside.
Malik stared at the father he remembered only through one photograph.
Daniel looked into the camera.
May you like
“Hello, son.”
Then Victor Shaw entered behind him with a gun.
