Eleanor’s health declined after the trials.
She moved into a small house near Aisha.
One evening, she asked Malik to bring the Obsidian key.
“I sent you into that showroom alone,” she said.
“You thought it was the only way.”
“I thought my fear made the decision correct.”
Malik sat beside her.
“You were right that they ignored me.”
“That does not mean you should have carried the risk.”
Eleanor apologized without asking him to make her feel better.
Malik placed the key in her hand.
“You kept this for ten years.”
“I kept too many things instead of people.”
Aisha entered and heard the sentence.
Mother and daughter had their own years to repair.
They began with dinner.
No cameras.
No legal files.
No company discussion for one hour.
