Northpoint

Chapter 06 - Northpoint
Northpoint Research Center appeared publicly as an abandoned battery laboratory.
Property records showed the land belonged to Helix Automotive—the company trying to purchase Sterling Crown.
Malik, Eleanor, Vanessa, and federal investigator Lena Ortiz traveled there under court protection.
Adrian was temporarily detained for obstruction but not yet charged with kidnapping. His attorneys argued that the video lacked full context.
Northpoint’s gates opened with the Obsidian key.
The buildings were not abandoned.
Inside were active laboratories, vehicle simulators, and private medical rooms.
Engineers worked under confidentiality agreements that prohibited contact with family.
Some believed they were participating in national-security research.
Others knew they were prisoners with salaries.
Aisha’s name appeared on no employee list.
Malik found a series of chalk marks along a corridor.
Small circles connected by three lines.
Eleanor recognized Aisha’s childhood symbol for “follow the current.”
The marks led to a battery-testing chamber.
Behind an insulated panel was a narrow room containing blankets, notebooks, and a homemade transmitter.
Aisha had lived there recently.
One notebook documented ten years of forced work.
Adrian and Helix executives kept her alive because only she could complete the adaptive-control system.
They told her Malik died in infancy.
She pretended to believe them while building the Obsidian network and searching public records for him.
Six months earlier, she found a school-science photo showing Malik’s name and Eleanor’s face in the background.
That was when she transmitted the Northpoint coordinates.
A guard discovered the signal.
Aisha was moved.
