Vivian Hartwell on Trial

Chapter 12 - Vivian Hartwell on Trial

Vivian faced charges for fraud, unlawful confinement, falsified medical records, pension theft, and conspiracy.

Her defense displayed hospitals, scholarship programs, and charitable galas funded by Hartwell wealth.

The prosecution displayed the accounts from which that wealth had been taken.

Laura testified through protected procedures.

She described losing her company, child, name, and freedom.

Vivian’s attorney attacked gaps in her memory.

The guardianship orders, payments, and recordings filled those gaps.

Celeste testified.

Samuel Price testified.

Employees described altered pension reports.

Then the jury watched the wedding footage.

Vivian clapped while Emily sat on the floor.

The image summarized what the documents proved.

Vivian believed humiliation was acceptable when it preserved family control.

She was convicted on most charges.

At sentencing, she said she had protected the Hartwell legacy.

Laura answered from her statement:

“A legacy that requires disappearing people is not an inheritance. It is evidence.”

Vivian received a lengthy prison sentence and forfeited family assets for restitution.
