Celeste requested a meeting with Ortiz.
She arrived without Vivian’s lawyers.
For years, Vivian had promised that Celeste would marry Julian and inherit a place inside Hartwell leadership.
When Julian chose Emily, Vivian told Celeste to remain close.
She said Emily’s claim would eventually collapse.
Celeste helped copy the forged signature and participated in the wedding humiliation.
She believed Emily was an opportunist.
The founder’s archive proved otherwise.
Celeste provided emails showing Vivian planned every detail.
Julian was instructed to remove Emily’s veil after the officiant reached the succession paragraph.
Celeste would be led to the chair.
A photographer would capture the image.
Vivian planned to use it as proof that Hartwell leadership had chosen a replacement before Emily’s claim became public.
Celeste also produced a message from Julian:
SHE WILL CRY, LEAVE, AND SIGN WHATEVER WE SEND TOMORROW.
Emily read it once.
Julian had known the humiliation was part of a financial strategy.
He did not merely obey his mother in the moment.
He planned Emily’s emotional collapse.
Celeste accepted a plea agreement requiring restitution and testimony.
She asked Emily whether they might someday speak without attorneys.
“Not now,” Emily said.
