Naomi had entered the penthouse behind Lucas because she discovered the forged signature that afternoon.
The company’s bank asked her to verify a medical proxy attached to the Helix merger.
Naomi called Lucas.
He insisted Nora had signed no proxy.
They left the gala together and returned home.
Celeste expected Lucas to remain away until midnight.
She did not expect Naomi.
The female attorney had represented the Ashford family for eighteen years, but Celeste kept her outside recent medical discussions.
Now Naomi compared the proxy metadata.
It was created on Celeste’s laptop.
Lucas’s signature came from a digital stamp stored in the executive office.
Nora’s signature line remained blank.
The penthouse confrontation was intended to fill it.
Naomi looked at Lucas.
“Your mother used your access credentials.”
Lucas answered, “I gave her the password.”
The admission hurt.
