The board held an emergency meeting that evening.
Lucas did not attempt to chair it.
He voluntarily stepped down while investigators reviewed documents approved through his office.
Some directors called the decision unnecessary.
Lucas answered:
“My signature was used because I treated access as trust. I cannot demand accountability from everyone else while protecting my position.”
Nora joined by secure video from the hospital.
She did not nominate herself as chief executive.
She nominated operations director Grace Chen.
Celeste accused Nora of arranging a takeover.
Nora replied:
“If I wanted private control, I would take his chair. I want independent review.”
The board suspended the Helix deal.
Grace became interim CEO.
The factories remained open.
