The Name On The School Door

Chapter 19 - The Name On The School Door

Noah returned to teaching.

The school offered to name a science wing after him. He declined.

He used part of the trust income to repair laboratories across the district, but the plaques carried the names of teachers who had served there for decades.

Students still asked about Alexander.

“Is it weird having a billionaire dad?”

“Yes.”

“Do you get free ships?”

“No.”

“Can we visit the mansion?”

“Absolutely not during exam week.”

He preserved humor because without it, the story became too heavy to carry.

Alexander began volunteering anonymously with the marine-engineering club. Teenagers knew him only as Alex, an older man who overexplained safety procedures and brought expensive tools he refused to leave behind.

One student eventually recognized him.

The news spread.

Noah waited for Alexander to stop coming.

He returned the next Tuesday.

That mattered.

After class, Noah found him tightening a clamp.

“You know they’ll film you now.”

“I know.”

“You hate that.”

“I hate missing more.”

The answer stayed with Noah.

He unlocked the classroom storage room and handed Alexander a key.

Not to the estate.

Not to the company.

Not to the family trust.

To a school workshop.

May you like

Alexander smiled.

It was the first key Noah chose to give him.
