The Verdict

Chapter 14 - The Verdict

The jury convicted Julian on every major coercion and fraud count, as well as assault.

Keller was convicted of medical fraud and conspiracy and permanently lost his license.

At sentencing, Julian described himself as a founder under unbearable pressure.

He said he feared Claire would destroy the company and return to her father’s world.

Claire submitted a written statement.

“Fear did not write the transfer. Pressure did not position cameras. Ambition did not lock the elevator. People made choices and used professional systems to give those choices respectable names.”

Julian received twenty-one years.

Keller received nine.

Fraud-linked assets were forfeited.

The court preserved the value of Julian’s legitimate engineering and executive contributions when calculating restitution. Claire supported that accuracy.
