The Company Inside Claire’s Name

Chapter 03 - The Company Inside Claire’s Name

Voss Meridian Aviation appeared on magazine covers as Julian’s creation.

He was photographed beside private jets, autonomous cargo drones, and luxury airport terminals. Profiles celebrated his rise from a middle-class engineering student to a billionaire founder.

The story contained truth.

Julian was gifted, persuasive, and relentless.

It also omitted the structure beneath him.

Claire wrote the original navigation algorithm while completing her doctorate. Rowan Atlas Trust financed the first laboratory through a blind institutional fund. The trust guaranteed the loans used to acquire hangars, testing sites, and data licenses.

Julian knew an investment group supported them.

He never asked who controlled it because the money arrived without demanding public credit.

Claire had wanted to know whether their marriage and company could exist without the Rowan name filling every room.

She intended to disclose the full structure after their fifth anniversary.

Three weeks before that date, she discovered Julian’s affair with Vivienne.

He apologized, ended the relationship publicly, and begged Claire to stay. She postponed the disclosure while deciding whether the marriage could survive.

The affair did not end.

It became strategic.

Vivienne was a crisis consultant with experience restructuring companies after founders were declared medically unfit. She identified Claire’s voting shares as the final obstacle to a sale of Voss Meridian’s defense-navigation division.

The buyer offered $2.4 billion.

Julian and Vivienne would receive enormous personal bonuses.

The sale also transferred civilian flight data into a private surveillance network.

Claire refused.

The documents in the black case were designed to erase that refusal.

Her confession would support an incapacity claim.

The separation agreement would isolate her from the board.

The proxy would give Julian her votes.

Gabriel looked through the documents.

“You thought her name was an administrative obstacle.”

Julian’s voice hardened.

“I built the company.”

Claire answered, “You built part of it. You do not own every person whose work made yours possible.”
