Grant Warren’s Schools

Chapter 11 - Grant Warren’s Schools
Celeste’s brother, Grant Warren, ran Crown Pathways from a glass headquarters in Boston.
He claimed no knowledge of the penthouse incident.
His emails told another story.
He scheduled Nathan’s Singapore meeting.
He instructed Celeste to obtain Ava’s guardian consent before the closing.
He approved the fake student rosters and luxury property purchases.
Investigators searched Crown Pathways campuses.
Some schools provided real education.
Others were nearly empty buildings used for billing.
A facility in Connecticut listed ninety scholarship students but contained twelve desks.
A transportation contractor billed for buses that did not exist.
A meal provider delivered empty cartons for photographs, then reused them at another campus.
Grant argued that shutting the network would harm children.
The independent foundation took emergency control of legitimate programs.
Teachers continued receiving salaries.
Students remained in classrooms.
Fraudulent properties were separated and sold.
The collapse Grant predicted did not happen.
What collapsed was his ability to hide private wealth inside public service.
He was arrested on fraud, identity misuse, conspiracy, and money-laundering charges.
His trial later revealed that Celeste’s marriage to Nathan had been discussed as a “governance acquisition.”
A private message from Grant read:
LOVE IS CHEAPER THAN A HOSTILE TAKEOVER.
Nathan read it once.
He did not use it to deny that parts of his relationship with Celeste had felt real.
