Amelia’s Mirror Archive

Chapter 04 - Amelia’s Mirror Archive
The broken mirror frame was transported to a secure evidence lab.
Technicians found a fireproof compartment inside the lower molding.
The blue key opened it.
Amelia had hidden three storage drives, an original trust charter, and a handwritten notebook.
The notebook began six months before her diagnosis became public.
Amelia had discovered that Crown Pathways billed the scholarship trust for students who did not exist.
Other children appeared under duplicate identities in different schools.
Millions intended for tuition, meals, and special education moved into luxury property companies.
Victor Shaw approved the contracts.
Celeste managed donor relations before she began dating Nathan.
Amelia wrote that she feared the fraud involved senior executives close to the family.
She did not name Nathan.
She did write:
NATHAN TRUSTS SUMMARY PAGES. THEY ARE USING HIS SPEED AGAINST THE CHILDREN.
The sentence cut more deeply than accusation.
Amelia had seen the weakness before her death.
The original trust charter contained a protection clause.
If anyone attempted to obtain guardianship over Ava through false behavioral or medical records, all charitable shares would transfer immediately to an independent board of students, teachers, workers, and public advocates.
The blue key triggered an audit but did not activate the transfer alone.
The attempted guardianship did.
Celeste knew the clause existed.
That was why she needed Ava to record a statement saying she found and destroyed company documents during a tantrum.
If the child appeared unstable before the petition was filed, Celeste could claim the guardianship was legitimate.
The smart-glass recording reversed the plan.
The archive contained one more file.
A video from Amelia addressed directly to Ava.
Nathan did not play it.
The file belonged first to his daughter.
Ava watched it privately with the child advocate.
When she came out, she handed Nathan a second note.

Mom said you would want to fix everything with money. She said to start by listening.
Nathan folded the note and put it inside his wallet.
