Evelyn Tells the Whole Story

Chapter 15 - Evelyn Tells the Whole Story
Evelyn pleaded guilty to conspiracy and financial crimes.
Her cooperation reduced her sentence, but she still served time.
Before sentencing, she requested permission to address Elena.
Elena agreed in writing but did not meet privately.
Evelyn admitted that she clapped in the penthouse because fear had turned into performance.
She wanted Richard and Mason to see her loyalty.
“I knew you were frightened,” she said. “I chose belonging over stopping it.”
Elena did not offer forgiveness.
She asked one question.
“Would you have stopped if Gabriel had not arrived?”
Evelyn cried.
“No.”
That answer mattered more than polished remorse.
Evelyn surrendered her assets to restitution and provided records identifying additional guardianship victims.
Her cooperation helped people recover homes.
