The Wall Behind Room Seven

Chapter 08 - The Wall Behind Room Seven
Police stopped the demolition.
Gabriel, Elena, Margaret, and structural engineers entered the original Harbor House residence.
The building had been empty for renovation, but photographs of residents still lined the corridor.
Margaret directed them to Room Seven.
Behind a removable wall panel, workers found sealed metal boxes.
Inside were original Vale Construction ownership records, material tests, audio tapes, and letters between Margaret and Andrew.
The tapes recorded Richard ordering unsafe substitutions in housing projects.
One conversation involved a building fire that injured six families.
Richard blamed subcontractors.
Margaret had proof he approved the materials.
Another box contained Harbor House’s original trust.
Andrew wrote a protection clause preventing any company connected to the Vale family from owning foundation land without approval from residents.
The clause did not appear in the digital copy Mason used.
Someone removed it after Richard joined the board.
Elena realized the forged transfer was invalid even before the false signature.
The residents themselves had never approved it.
Mason’s lawyers argued that the metal boxes were recently planted.
Margaret knew details no outsider could invent: the nail pattern, insulation type, and a handwritten mistake in the original deed.
Forensic testing dated the boxes and paper to the correct period.
Richard called Margaret confused.
The medical records from North Ridge showed she had been kept on unnecessary sedatives for years.

The woman Richard described as incapable began explaining engineering documents more clearly than his own experts.
