The Medical Declaration

Chapter 05 - The Medical Declaration
The guardianship petition described Elena as paranoid, emotionally unstable, and incapable of managing complex decisions.
The supporting doctor was Dr. Paul Danner, a private psychiatrist employed by Vale Health Partners.
Elena had never met him.
Danner claimed he evaluated her through video consultations.
The dates matched ordinary calls Elena believed were discussions with her prenatal insurance coordinator.
Mason had arranged for Danner to join silently and observe without introducing himself.
Gabriel was furious.
Ortiz reminded him that anger was not evidence.
He agreed.
They traced Danner’s payments.
He received a bonus whenever a court approved a Vale guardianship petition.
The same pattern appeared in twenty-three cases.
Elderly property owners, injured veterans, and widowed spouses had been declared incapable after refusing development offers.
Their homes later entered Vale-controlled trusts.
Harbor House resident Samuel Brooks recognized Dean Cross from his own guardianship hearing.
Samuel was a retired mechanic who lost legal control of his house after a short hospital stay.
He believed the transfer paid for his care.
Records showed the Vales sold his property for six times the amount credited to him.
Elena had unknowingly approved emergency housing for Samuel after his eviction.
The foundation was repairing harm created by its own board partner.
Danner disappeared before police reached his office.
His computer remained.
A scheduled email was set to send at 8:00 the next morning.
Subject: ELENA PARKER — FINAL INCAPACITY CERTIFICATION.
Attached was a document claiming Elena had suffered a psychiatric emergency after attacking her husband with a ceremonial cane.

The Vales planned to reverse every fact of the penthouse recording.
Because the SOS captured the truth, the false report became evidence of premeditation.
