Grace Opens the Locket Again

Chapter 19 - Grace Opens the Locket Again
At eighteen, Grace gained full legal ownership of the locket and memory key.
The trust requested the key for its public archive.
Grace donated a technical replica.
She kept the original.
Inside the locket, Amelia’s photograph had faded further.
A conservator offered to restore it digitally.
Grace agreed only if the original remained unchanged.
Some damage belonged to the object’s journey.
She also recorded her own message on a new memory chip.
Not because she expected another conspiracy.
Because Amelia and Anna had taught her that family history should not exist in only one official place.
Her message said:
My name is Grace Amelia Reed-Hartwell. I was not missing because I failed to exist. Adults changed the records that connected me to the people searching.

Copies went to her, Anna, Daniel, and the independent archive.
No private family controlled the only version.
