Vanessa requested a private meeting with Ortiz.
She admitted recognizing the locket.
Her mother showed her a photograph of it years earlier and warned that anyone carrying it could threaten the family foundation.
Vanessa claimed she did not know Grace was Daniel’s daughter until the corridor confrontation.
The video cameras told a different story.
Three days before the wedding, Vanessa visited Rosewood House.
She asked staff whether a brown-haired girl named Grace had received any jewelry.
A worker said the child had disappeared that morning.
Vanessa ordered the facility to report Grace as dangerous and confused.
She also instructed security at Hartwell Grand to remove any unregistered child.
At the wedding, she recognized Grace immediately.
Vanessa’s explanation became smaller.
She said Evelyn convinced her the girl was an impostor.
Then Ortiz played an audio message Vanessa had sent Victor:
IF DANIEL OPENS THE LOCKET BEFORE THE VOWS, EVERYTHING ENDS.
Vanessa closed her eyes.
She had known enough.
Perhaps she had not designed the hospital fraud.
