Graham Vale Arrives

Chapter 06 - Graham Vale Arrives
Graham Vale arrived in a silver sedan with two attorneys and a private security team.
He was sixty-one, gray-haired, elegant, and calmer than his son. Where Derek used humiliation, Graham used concern.
He approached Claire with open hands.
“Your father would be devastated by this scene.”
Claire glanced at the phones filming nearby.
“My father would be devastated by the cars you certified without repairs.”
Graham smiled sadly.
“You’ve misunderstood accounting corrections.”
Mara Keene entered the parking lot from the opposite side. She wore a dark suit and carried the court-verified trust documents. Elias had hired her twenty years earlier to design the founder succession system.
Graham’s smile disappeared.
Mara explained that his management rights expired at five o’clock. The trust had automatically frozen executive access after Meridian verified Claire’s identity and detected unresolved safety violations.
Graham turned toward the black coupe.
He had searched for the founder module for years. Elias had hidden it inside the one vehicle Graham considered too sentimental to dismantle.
“Claire,” he said quietly, “we should discuss this privately.”
“No.”
“Your father and I built this company together.”
“You managed finance. He built the safety systems.”
“And without me, his ideals would have bankrupted everyone.”
Claire heard the same defense Derek used.
Profit had become permission.
Mara handed Graham a preservation order. He could not remove records, contact witnesses privately, or transfer company funds.
Graham’s attorneys began objecting.
Then Meridian’s alarm sounded.
A remote deletion request had reached the founder server from Graham’s phone.
Everyone looked at him.
He stared at the device in his hand.
Mara took a photograph of the screen.
“You attempted to erase evidence after receiving notice?”
May you like
Graham’s composure cracked.
For the first time, Derek looked at his father not as rescuer, but as a man caught doing exactly what Claire accused him of doing.
