Vanessa filed for emergency contact, claiming Daniel’s anger had confused Lily and that the child needed continuity.
The family court reviewed the recordings, smart-lock logs, future incident reports, and medical examination.
Vanessa’s attorney argued Lily had become attached to a false story because it brought her father’s attention.
The judge interviewed Lily privately.
She did not use legal language.
“She smiles when Dad is there,” Lily said. “She changes when he leaves.”
“Why did you save the videos?”
“Because words disappear when grown-ups say I remembered wrong.”
The judge denied Vanessa contact and issued a protective order.
Daniel retained custody under independent family oversight.
He welcomed the oversight.
