Victor Vale’s Offer

Chapter 07 - Victor Vale’s Offer

Victor contacted Julian before police could arrest him.

He requested a private meeting at Albright headquarters.

Ortiz allowed it under surveillance.

Victor sat behind the boardroom table as if nothing had changed.

“Clara is ill,” he said. “Everything she remembers will be challenged.”

“You imprisoned her.”

“I prevented a scandal that would have destroyed the company.”

“You stole her shares.”

“I kept the workforce employed.”

Victor offered a deal.

He would resign, return part of the money, and support Evelyn’s trust claim if Julian convinced her not to prosecute Serena.

“She made one emotional mistake,” Victor said.

“She stood on my wife’s hand.”

“She was trying to protect what she believed belonged to her.”

Julian looked through the glass wall at the city below.

“That explanation has protected this family for too long.”

Victor’s calm faded.

He revealed that Julian’s father, Michael Albright, had approved Clara’s guardianship.

Michael died five years earlier.

Victor carried the signed order.

Julian recognized the signature.

Evelyn later examined it.

The final stroke was wrong.

Her mother had taught her to notice pressure changes in technical drawings.

The signature had been traced.

Victor used dead men whenever living people stopped cooperating.

Ortiz entered and arrested him for fraud, unlawful confinement, and conspiracy.

Victor smiled at Julian.

“When the company falls, every employee will know your wife caused it.”

The threat targeted Evelyn through responsibility for strangers.

Julian answered before she could.

“No. They will know you built a company that required silence to survive.”
