The Wrong Hospital Bracelet

Chapter 07 - The Wrong Hospital Bracelet
The identification band inside the silver case belonged to a woman named Mara Voss.
The birth date was different.
The patient number led to a closed psychiatric clinic owned by Dr. Vale’s investment group.
The false identity had been created three months earlier.
Its chart described paranoia, aggressive fixation on finances, and delusions that a spouse was stealing company assets.
Mara had never visited the clinic.
The chart contained prepared progress notes dated weeks into the future.
If the guardianship petition succeeded, Mara would be transferred to Vale’s clinic under the duplicate patient record. Her real reports would remain difficult to obtain, while the false chart would document continued incapacity.
Insurance claims had already been submitted for treatment she never received.
Serena called it identity laundering.
The false patient absorbed the diagnosis.
The real woman lost credibility.
Lena examined the future notes.
One described Mara accusing Adrian of physical harm.
The clinician interpreted the accusation as persecutory delusion.
