Camille Takes the Stand

Chapter 14 - Camille Takes the Stand
Camille testified under an agreement that reduced, but did not erase, her exposure.
She admitted designing the ballroom scene.
She admitted writing the discipline contract.
She admitted arranging Renner’s report and editing earlier footage to portray Elena as unstable.
She claimed Adrian initiated the physical coercion.
Messages showed Camille encouraging it.
The prosecutor asked why she chose two hundred.
“Because no one would believe Elena later.”
The courtroom became silent.
Camille realized the sentence had revealed the scheme more completely than hours of documents.
Disbelief was not an accidental benefit.
It was the design.
Her cooperation helped convict Adrian.
It did not protect her from responsibility.
